Skepta Announces 'Knife and Fork': His First Album In Years
Skepta's Fork and Knife rollout took over two years. We break down why the title flipped, who's on it, and what it means for his legacy.
Skepta just took two years and nine months to turn an Instagram caption into an actual single. That's the real story behind Knife and Fork.
Back on New Year's Day 2024, he announced Knife and Fork, promised a single within weeks, and thanked fans for riding with him through his "hiatus." By November 2025 he resurfaced on the cover of British GQ with the title flipped to Fork & Knife and a whole new concept attached, built around his mum telling him that hard work means "one day, we'll eat with fork and knife." That's not a delay. That's a rebuild.

Get Featured →The features tell you where his head's at. Innocent Smile, the song that finally kicked off the rollout on September 18, pairs Chase & Status with Suggs and a ska beat that morphs into breakbeat. At Reading Festival in August he debuted Pandora's Box and Aloe Vera with Slawn live painting behind him, then brought out Toxic, his Playboi Carti collaboration, pulling two viral security guards on stage. This is a man moving between Fred again, AWGE and Grammy nominated dance records.
Reading looked like him testing the room before committing. So the real question isn't when this drops. It's which Skepta actually shows up when it does.
